82 guests packed up from all over the country, and a few from all over the world to be here. Loading up cars, kids, even flowers and making their journey to the Bluegrass for this special day. And a day that all of us will never forget.
Andrea + Joey call Denver, CO their home (my favorite place in the US! Knew I liked them from the beginning), but decided to get married in the foothills of Joey’s childhood. They drove here along with their precious lab, Chunk – their 10 year old baby, so he could take part in their day. She planned, booked and coordinated an absolutely breath-taking day from the mountains, and her hard work paid off.
These two have a really amazing love story. They weren’t lucky to find one another, they were blessed. Both leading adventurous lives – jobs and amazing travel landed them both in Denver – where Joey saw a photo of Andrea wearing a clown nose. And since then, the rest is love and history. He incorporated his high school jacket into his proposal, and I’m so glad they brought those special things with them to use during their ceremony (and good sports when I needed them for a few photos. Just HAD to!)
At one point during the reception I looked over to the sister of the groom and said, “Is this real life?” EVERYONE was so friendly, beautiful, had amazing dance skills and never stopped smiling. EVERYONE was present with their full spirit and the room radiated so much love it smacked you in the face. It was so easy to get lost in it. It was so easy to just want to walk around and hug every person there and feel like you’ve known them your whole life.
All of my couples are just amazing, and that of course rings true to these two. They way that Joey looks at Andrea almost takes your breath away. In little moments when they are alone, on the dance floor, in front of a crowd. It doesn’t matter. It’s a timeless love like a romance movie – the way every woman wants to be looked at.
The had a planned first dance that even Chunk was a part of. The reception was like a scene out of Footloose – people in the air, on the ground, spinning, dipping, laughing. If I could conjure up a dream wedding for myself, well – this one would the perfect description.
And I was beyond blessed that my best friend and uber talented photographer, Bella Posa, flew in all the way from New York to shoot this with me. Many of these shots wouldn’t be possible without her – especially our fun with light painting and shooting the gorgeous sky that night. She’s so freaking awesome and she rocked this day with me SO HARD.
So instead of writing a novel about their wedding day, I’ll just show you. All my love to you all – and hoping our paths may cross again. Until then, Cheers, Hugs and High Fives!
