Holly and Michael had one incredible day.
Married Saturday at one of my very favorite venues, The Barn at Cedar Grove – we started with sunshine and a warm day, made it through storms and torrential downpours and ended with a beautiful cool night. Typical Kentucky, I tell ya.
Not often to I get to witness such a tearful first look when a groom sees his bride for the first time – not because they aren’t all overwhelmed with emotion – but it’s different when you’re standing in front of 200 people. That didn’t matter for Michael when he caught his first glimpse of Holly walking down the aisle. Holly’s dad also was a bucket of tears, which didn’t leave a dry eye in the audience.
We actually started the ceremony a little early (a first for me!) to beat the storms rolling in, which we did. But as they were approaching, the wind gusts sent leaves falling around all of us – a perfect moment. Holly and Michael were amazing sports when the rain did finally greet us, and we did almost every single portrait of them in the downpour and I couldn’t love them more. They danced the night away, pulled lots of funny pranks at the reception (granny panties during the garter toss – seriously hilarious!) and ended the night with sparklers.
I know this day was everything they had hoped it would be, and more favorites to prove that love and laughter definitely filled the air. Cheers to you both!
