This is a big ole’ blog, so give it a little time to load. I’m a chronic oversharer and I can’t even apologize about it!
Alex + Adam. These two live in Chicago, and married in Alex’s hometown of gorgeous Bardstown, Kentucky. And the family traditions and heart strings woven into every moment of their day were flawless. Alex got ready right in her childhood home, first looks in the backyard, portraits down her street. The something old/borrowed/blue came right off of her mother’s hand and onto hers. Gifts of small batch bourbon and 5th generation bourbon drinkers. Walks through downtown all the way to Spalding Hall. A full mass, pews filled, hands held. Wearing her grandmother’s fur. Her dad’s speech even included the comfort of her long time stuffed animal from her childhood. Alex’s mother couldn’t keep her eyes off of her. Her dad cried, smiled, cried again. Just the love you felt watching them interact felt like a warm blanket around you on a cold day. You could feel how this was a day they had all thought of through the years, and were relishing in each moment.
Adam’s family came down from Maryland, and again, never stopped smiling. A groomsmen from England even saved the day finding the buried bourbon no one could seem to find. The air was cool and the dance floor was hot.
I could go on and on about this day, but we all know the photographs tell a story I can’t begin to. A big cheers to these two and a lifetime of meaningful moments just like this.
