As a photographer, it can
sometimes often be overwhelming – the amount of things you want to do, to learn, to know, to get better at. My list is incredibly long and ever-growing, but I’ve actually done a few of those things recently – to which I’ve become addicted. Blogging is obviously not one of those, but I promise I’m working on it. 2013 has lots of fun, wonderful things to come, and an awesome blog is one of them – but anyway – back to the point of cool stuff.
Night Photography. OMG I’m in love. Here’s one of the first shots I ever put together successfully from this summer.
Now, my first try at this. Disaster. Like – let me stomp my feet and throw a temper tantrum blurry mess of photos. But try, try again little grasshopper. I must also note, that some of my best friends in the whole world are quite the talented photographers, so it was nice to have a little guidance and help along the way. :D
So now, I just can’t stop. Any night the sky is clear I at least consider sitting out in the backyard for a while. I don’t always, but it’s become quite the habit – just to sit, relax, and enjoy the quiet. There’s something about the sky that is so peaceful, so magical and reassuring to me, that I try to do it as often as possible. It’s SO big, and here we are so little – it makes all of my worries feel so small – for that little bit of time, it’s still, it’s quiet, it’s stress free. It’s perfect.
This December we had quite the meteor shower, so I set up my camera on my back porch, wrapped a blanket around it and set it to shoot for several hours. And it’s always like opening presents, or mining for gold when you upload these into your computer – to see what you caught, to see a bit of magic.
So, it’s safe to say this is something I’ll be doing often. All the time. As much as possible. As if I need any more addictions or guilty pleasures, but I’ll say this one is going to be ranking rather high on the list.
For now, goodnight my friends. I’m going to sign off in hope of getting some sleep, getting ready for 2013, and most importantly, becoming a better blogger.
Hugs and High Fives –
